Jobs and further education

Few people doubt the significance of communication today. But perhaps only a few are aware of what an extensive area communication represents.

Multimedia designers are trained primarily to be responsible for jobs needing digital communication. These could be in media or communications companies as well as advertising bureaus, Internet and multimedia companies, newspapers and radio/TV. Moreover the multimedia designer could create digital communications solutions for production companies and public services where marketing, information and development can be aided by multimedia.

As a Multimedia Designer, you will have the opportunity to work with communication in the broadest sense of the word. For that reason, the education contains several different aspects.

Naturally you will learn to master technology and its practical application, which is necessary for multimedia production. But you will also learn a great deal about how to convey messages in the best way; about concept development and marketing; about choosing the appropriate media; about design and aesthetics. Societal and company organizational aspects are also part of the program.

Your training will allow you to enter managerial areas where you will have the opportunity to work with many different types of people - on all levels of the company organization. This is one of the reasons why a great deal of the program is project-based.

You learn how to plan a strategy, work out a business plan, communicate your ideas to different target groups, organise and prepare a user interface for a particular customer group and program for the web and CD-rom. At the same time, you will be introduced to video production, audio and streaming.

When you have completed the program, you will have an understanding of both the parts and also the whole picture in the production of new multimedia production. You have, yourself, produced the parts in the group projects, and the whole can be seen in the results, which you and your group have achieved.
