The courses are designed to provide the participants with thorough overall understanding of agricultural management by broadening the participants’ knowledge e.g. planning and implementing solutions to farming problems. The participants will be provided with various kinds of tools in order to effectively handle management issues in the agricultural sector.
Examples of tailor-made agricultural training courses:
• Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Management (10 weeks)
• Dairy Farm Management (3 months)
• Management of Poultry Production (2 months)
• Management and Extension in Smallholder Livestock Projects (4 months)
• Management in Trade with Farm Input Supply and Agricultural Produce (15 weeks)
• Agricultural College Farm Management in Thailand (14 weeks)
• Extension Methods and Methodologies for Uganda National Farmers Association
• Management and Extension for Training Institutions (9 weeks).
These courses are developed and conducted specifically for one project, one sector, one ministry, etc. in a specific country. Courses have been contracted for e.g.
• FAO Fertilizer Programme in Gambia
• Ministry of Co-operatives in Indonesia
• The Dairy Promotion Organisation in Thailand
• Kenyan-Nordic Co-operative Development Programme
• Department of Vocational Education (DOVE) in Thailand
• Danida and Danida Fellowship Centre
The course contents and duration are agreed upon between the client and Tietgen International, often followed by a fact-finding visit to the project venue.
The number of students participating should not be less than 10 in order to reach a reasonable price-per-student for tailor-made courses. A course with 16 to 24 participants is ideal for the intellectual and pedagogical process to flourish.
